Transpersonal Photography

A mirror for the unseen—a practice of witnessing, reflection, and becoming.

Transpersonal Photography is a collaborative portrait experience for people moving through identity, transition, grief, ancestral reflection, creativity, or integration. The intention is not simply to make a photograph, but to create space for you to be seen with care and to recognize something meaningful in yourself.

Who This Is For

This experience may support people navigating a life transition, reconnecting with identity or ancestry, integrating a meaningful experience, marking a personal threshold, or seeking a portrait that feels honest rather than performative. You do not need to be participating in ceremonial work to begin.

What the Experience Includes

• A free consultation to explore your intentions and comfort

• Collaborative preparation and creative direction

• A spacious, consent-centered portrait session

• Thoughtfully selected and edited final images

• Time for reflection on what the images evoke

How It Unfolds

We begin with conversation. Together, we identify what you want the session to witness, honor, or make visible. During the portrait experience, you remain an active collaborator in pacing, imagery, symbolism, and boundaries. Afterward, we select images that feel resonant and grounded in your intention.

What “Transpersonal” Means

Transpersonal means beyond the familiar roles or masks through which we are usually seen. Here, the term describes an approach to portraiture that makes room for relationship, imagination, embodiment, nature, and the larger story of a life—without asking the photograph to define who you are.

Scope & Care

This is an artistic, reflective, and non-clinical offering. It does not replace therapy, medical care, or crisis support. Consent, privacy, cultural respect, and clear expectations guide the entire process.

Begin With a Conversation

Start with a free 30-minute consultation. We will explore your intentions, answer questions, and decide together whether this experience is the right fit.

About Azul

Azul DelGrasso is a Denver-based artist, photographer, and transpersonal scholar whose work has been shaped by decades of community engagement, cultural inquiry, contemplative practice, and visual storytelling.

From early work in graffiti and digital Chicanismo to portraiture, performance, public-health advocacy, and ceremonial art, Azul has continually explored how images can hold identity, contradiction, belonging, and transformation. This history now informs a slower, relational approach to portraiture—one grounded in presence, collaboration, and respect for each person’s story.

A surreal artwork combining elements of nature and indigenous art. It features a large tree with a mask-like face at the center, glowing with a reddish hue at sunset. In the background, there are silhouettes of buildings and a sunset sky with clouds. The foreground shows roots tangled beneath the soil, with tribal patterns and ancient artifacts, including a skull and a carved figure. The image has layered overlays suggesting cultural symbolism and a mystical atmosphere.
