1. Nature of Services & Scope of Practice

Professional Background in Counseling & Public Health

My background includes 30 years of one-on-one public health counseling, specializing in HIV/STD prevention, risk reduction, harm reduction, trauma-informed models, and culturally responsive engagement. My training and practice were completed through:

  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

  • The State of California

  • The State of Colorado

  • National training centers and federally funded organizations

  • Clinical public health programs operating under medical directors and licensed clinical staff

Over nearly three decades, I provided:

  • Motivational interviewing

  • Trauma-informed crisis navigation

  • Psychosocial and behavioral assessments

  • Safety and stabilization planning

  • Delivery of sensitive health information

  • Somatic and emotional grounding

  • Harm reduction counseling

  • Culturally affirmative care

  • Supportive care within multidisciplinary medical teams

These services were non-clinical and clinical, public-health–based, and conducted under medical oversight, within the scope allowed by state and federal public health agencies.

Current Role: Ecopsychologist & Transformative Coach

Although my professional history includes extensive counseling experience, I am not:

  • a licensed clinical psychologist

  • a licensed professional counselor

  • a licensed social worker

  • a psychiatrist or medical provider

I do not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical therapy for mental health conditions.
I do not offer psychotherapy or medical advice.

My current work is centered around:

  • ecopsychology

  • ecological identity development

  • ceremonial guidance and integration

  • somatic and nature-based practices

  • trauma-informed spiritual support

  • systems and organizational ecology

  • relational consciousness studies

This work is educational, relational, somatic, ecological, and transformational — not clinical mental health treatment.

2. Why I Transitioned from Public Health to Ecopsychology

After 30 years in public health—spanning HIV/STD prevention, national training, trauma-informed practice, and systems-level capacity building—I shifted into ecopsychology because:

  • Mainstream clinical models often separate people from nature, community, and ancestral wisdom

  • Many forms of suffering arise from ecological disconnection rather than individual pathology

  • Public health systems, while essential, are limited in addressing spiritual wounds, existential disorientation, and ecological collapse

  • I believe healing emerges through relationship, ritual, belonging, and ecological remembrance

  • My doctoral research on unitive consciousness and 5-MeO-DMT revealed the profound potentials of ecological identity and interconnected awareness

  • Ceremonial, ecological, and relational healing modalities live outside clinical structures

  • My calling is to support transformation through Earth-based, transdisciplinary, and consciousness-centered pathways

I continue to honor my public health lineage while embracing a deeper, holistic praxis.

3. Ecopsychology, Ecotherapy Coaching, and Ecological Identity

Ecopsychology

Ecopsychology views the human psyche as inseparable from the Earth. It understands that:

  • Consciousness is ecological

  • Identity is relational and interdependent

  • Well-being emerges through reciprocity with the natural world

  • Healing often happens through experiences of belonging, presence, and ecological memory

Ecotherapy Coaching

Ecotherapy coaching is non-clinical, experiential, and nature-based. It supports:

  • reconnection to land, body, and relational systems

  • grounding and somatic awareness

  • ecological identity development

  • integration after peak or mystical experiences

  • repairing spiritual wounds

  • restoring coherence, meaning, and belonging

Ecological Identity

As defined in my dissertation:

Ecological identity is the embodied remembrance that the self is an expression of the Earth, a participatory consciousness rooted in interdependence, reciprocity, and ecological belonging.

This work is transformational and developmental, not clinical or diagnostic.

4. Colorado Natural Medicine Health Act (NMHA) Notice

Colorado’s NMHA legalizes certain natural medicines under regulated facilitation.
To comply with the law, clients must understand:

I am not:

What I DO Offer Under This Act

Legally permitted services include:

  • psychedelic preparation coaching (educational only)

  • psychedelic integration coaching

  • meaning-making and ecological reframing

  • somatic and nature-based grounding

  • trauma-informed spiritual support

These services are non-clinical and must not be interpreted as therapeutic treatment under NMHA or any licensing statute.

Any psychedelic use is chosen independently by the client.

5. No Diagnosis, No Therapy, No Medical Advice
